Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Community Service

A Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Community Service
Sunday, April 23, 2017at 7:00 PM
Temple Emanu-El in Nu’uanu
(Pali Highway at Jack Lane)
In order to ensure their survival, 10,000 Jewish children left behind the loving care of their parents and were hurried along the passage from the depths of hell to freedom. The children made the journey from Germany, Austria, Poland and Czechoslovakia to flee the deadly grip of the Nazis who were invading their homelands.
Through memoirs, pictures and videos, come be inspired by two women who were part of this massive life-saving effort!
Join with members across the spectrum of Oahu’s faith communities along with Governor and Mrs. Ige, Mayor Kirk Caldwell and special guest Stefan Schlueter, Consul General of Germany, who will introduce a moving photo exhibit entitled “The German Roots of Zionism.”
The service will conclude with the lighting of memorial candles as together we remember the Eleven Million men, women and children, Jews and Non-Jews, murdered during the Holocaust.
