Come ready to get MUDDY at Loʻi Kalo Park with Jewy Hui!

When?
Saturday, December 2nd  |  8am to 12pm

Where?
1243 Loʻi Kalo Pl, Honolulu, HI 96817

What should I wear/bring?
Wear clothes and shoes you’re willing to get muddy. Bring water shoes or sandals with straps that you are willing to get muddy. Wear a Chanukah hat or outfit!
Bring a water bottle.

As we are guests at the park, please bring a snack to share! We will be doing a cultural exchange and making Hawaiian inspired Chanukah foods! So think kalo latkes, poi donuts, lilikoi applesauce, etc! See the question at the bottom to tell us what you can bring.

What's the parking situation?
Please carpool, parking is limited - see below.

Why are we volunteering here?
We will be joining the Loʻi Kalo Park's holiday service day! Things may be Christmas-themed, but we will also bring Chanukah ruach with fun hats, Hawaiian/Chanukah fusion food, and more!

Taro (kalo in Hawaiian) was the staple food in Hawaii prior to Western contact. The plant is also the mythological elder brother of the Hawaiian people. Loʻi Kalo Park community workday is an effort to restore the natural beauty and historical importance of this once forgotten park.

As malahini on native lands Jewy Hui believes deeply in Tikkun Olam and seeks ways to experience and learn more about Hawaiian culture and partner with organizations to mālama ʻāina.
