Rabbi Miriam Burg has long been a spiritual leader and advisor to Oahu Jewish Ohana, leading OJO high holiday services for the past 8 years. Currently, she serves as the founder and CEO of Hava NaBaby, a new, soon-to-be national Jewish childbirth education initiative for expectant parents. Rabbi Miriam is an alumna of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship. She was ordained in 2002 at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion where she also earned a Master’s degree in Jewish Education. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Honors College at the University of Michigan. She lives in Baltimore City with her husband and her family.
Jean Rosenfeld, Ph.D. is a member of Oahu Jewish Ohana who is a scholar of religious terrorism and the editor of Terrorism, Identity, and Legitimacy: The Four Waves theory and political violence (Routledge, NY: 2011). She holds a B.A. from Stanford in English, an M.A. from UCLA in anthropology and and a PhD from UCLA in history of Religions.
Matti Gorodenchik is a Hawaii Israeli and founder of JewyHui along with his wife Aviela Weltman, currently serving as its Treasurer. He is an alumni of Hebrew University and former Israel Fellow at the University of Florida. He is a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces. Matti is a full-time special education teacher and football coach at Kaimuki High School.
Tal Shani is a proud Hawaii Israeli who is the creator of Veganista Hawaii, a thriving business providing delicious vegan cooking and baked goods, with cuisine centered on Middle Eastern dishes.
