HADASSAH HAWAII PRESENTS

Program:   WHAT IS A JEW?  AND THE HISTORY OF ANTISEMITISM:  Learn what Canadian youth are experiencing with online Jew Hate and how we teach them to combat it.  

This program is available to schools that have been experiencing antisemitism, to address a specific issue; and also presented after a more basic program, because some knowledge of the Holocaust, etc. is needed.  The vast majority of public and private school students who see it are not Jewish.  

 

Speaker:  Marnie Bondar, Calgary Jewish Federation Holocaust & Human Rights, Remembrance and Education Department Co-Chair.  Marnie is also the granddaughter of 4 Holocaust survivors, and is sharing this program with our greater Hawaii Jewish community during her family vacation here.  We recommend attending to all who are concerned with rising antisemitism and empowering ourselves, our children, grandchildren, teachers and neighbors to make a difference..

The mission of the Holocaust and Human Rights: Remembrance and Education department of Calgary Jewish Federation is to promote acceptance, social justice, and human rights through education and remembrance of the Holocaust. As the primary leader in Holocaust education for Southern Alberta, our department engages thousands of students annually. In addition, we present, partner, and sponsor numerous public cultural and commemorative events to memorialize those who perished and honour those who survived.
