This week's parashah is full of drama: the fiery destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah …the birth of a long-wanted son, Isaac, to elderly Sarah and Abraham …the casting out of Hagar and Abraham's first-born son, Ishmael …and one of the most challenging stories in the entire Torah, the akedah – the binding of Isaac.
