In this week's parashah – Nitzavim / נִצָּבִים ("[you are] standing") D'varim/Deuteronomy 29:9 - 30:20 – Moses, knowing his life is nearing its end, urges the Israelites to choose life, love God and obey the commandments in the land they have been promised. But, again, he warns of terrible curses to those who turn their backs on the commandments and worship other gods.
