This week's parashah tells of a failed revolt against Moses and Aaron and gets its name from the leader of this rebellion,  קֹרַח ("Korach") – B'midbar/Numbers 16:1 - 18:32. This would-be uprising threatened the leadership of the Israelite community, leading to a terrible punishment against Korach and his followers.
