Jodie Gerson, Program Director

 

Jodie E. Gerson, MA, MS, CPM, CETP is from New York, and has lived in Texas, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Las Vegas before moving to Hawaii. Jodie has two Master's Degrees; one in Community Clinical Psychology, the other in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is currently working towards her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Hawai’i School of Professional Psychology at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Jodie is a Certified Expert Trauma Professional and has worked in the field for over 25 years. Her work experience, with adults adolescents and children, includes assistance and intervention with the homeless, individuals with mental illness, minors in foster care, forensics, youth parole, and persons with HIV/AIDS. She specializes in art therapy.

 

During her spare time she trains for triathlons, has ridden her bicycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money and awareness for HIV/AIDS, enjoys scuba diving, and spends time with her five rescue dogs.

 

 

 

 

 

Claire Link, Administrator

 

Claire grew up in a university town in West Virginia. In 1980, after earning her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, Claire made her way to Washington, DC to work as an interior designer. While in DC she met her husband Matt.

 

After completing her Master’s Degree in 1991, Claire taught undergraduate and graduate interior design for three years at Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC. She also started her own interior design firm. Claire and Matt spent several years living overseas in Palau and Australia and then returned to the U.S. in 2001, settling in Hawaii and raising a daughter.

 

Throughout her life, Claire has been an avid volunteer. She always had an interest in working in the nonprofit arena. Claire felt the skills she gained from running her own business would be well applied to a position with a nonprofit. When the opportunity arose to work as administrative assistant for Jewish Community Services, the position seemed a perfect fit. Claire has been with JCS since October 2015.

 

 

 

 

Jenna Weissman, Marketing and Communications Director

 

Jenna moved to Oahu in early 2017. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Communications and Marketing degree. During her first few years in Hawaii, Jenna worked with KHON-TV, Honolulu, as a Multi-Platform Account Executive for the local sales and advertising team where she independently developed custom campaign strategies for local businesses using a combination of broadcast and digital platforms. During the pandemic, Jenna transitioned out of corporate and into the non-profit field with a desire to support the smaller organizations that make the biggest difference for our community.

 

In her spare time, Jenna enjoys engaging in health and wellness activities such as strength conditioning, outdoor exercises, meditation, and nutrition education. She is in the process of receiving her NASM Personal Training and Nutrition Coach Certification with a goal to share her passion for health and wellness with her friends, family, and potential clients looking to gain the proper education, motivation, and tools for living a long-term healthy lifestyle.
